Well ok, I know why. Because I am a crazy woman who has a little girl who loves dresses and squeals with delight when she gets to try a new one. So there!
It all started with a little bit of extra pink linen ( not really pink more salmony pink) and sequined trim. I wasn’t really interested in doing something too fancy or stressful or detailed. Just simple and cute. I already love linen and felt the trim suited it perfectly. So I found this pillow case dress by Little Big Girl Studio. I printed it out and measured one of her dresses on it and felt it was too big, so I set the scaling to 90% and it was so much more closer to her dress. The result was lovely and she almost went to bed wearing it.
And then I went out specifically to buy fabric for more dresses.
I just couldn’t help myself.
Really!
Another winner. I also got her a pair of matching leggings, which made her giggle and run around and shout “leggeeeeeeeeengs” I am not sure why though.
I loved this fabric, it was so simple and cute. She didn’t love it though and asked for the paisley dress again, but given the fickle nature of three year olds I am not worried. I added the sleeves for a different look but it is basically the same dress pattern.
Now excuse me while I go look for more ideas and things to sew, because I am a crazy mom and I love hearing my daughter go squeee squeee.
