… are very real and very naughty. So I was running some errand last Tuesday and all of a sudden the voices started talking to me. Of course any knitter/crocheter/crafter/normal person with slight weird tendancies will know that once you hear the voices you really have no choice. We had this very interesting conversation about striped dresses and how blue and green would be really cute together. And somehow I drove halfway across town in the pouring rain to buy yarn. The city where I live is a beautiful one. It just doesn’t handle rain anymore. It used to have a special draining system for rain which is now non functional. So when it rains, the city literally drowns. I digress.
And as soon as I got home I swatched.
I SWATCHED!!!!!!!!
I rarely swatch, well I swatch only when I am making a garment.
Not only did I swatch, I wet blocked it before I measured my gauge.
YES I BLOCKED IT BEFORE MEASURING!!!!!
I must be sick.
Swatches are so cute.
The yarn is called Efsun by Himalaya, a Turkish brand, it is Aran weight and comes in a 100g ball. It is 100% wool, it is not super wash, is that crazy for a child’s garment? Probably is, but I couldn’t find a superwash in colors I liked that was also worsted weight. I really was looking quick knitting. While I totally adore knitting fingering weight, I just wanted a dress that wouldn’t take all winter to knit.
To be honest, I am seriously considering knitting a blanket in this yarn but lots of different colors.
So many ideas and things to knit but not enough hands or time.
