This isn’t my first hat. I’ve made crochet hats before. But this is my first sewn hat. Every month at my daughter’s nursery school they have a color theme and then at the end of the month they have a color day where the kids are encouraged to bring or wear an item in that color. This month is blue month. So I made a blue hat. I used Sew Much Ado‘s tutorial on UCreate. The pattern is perfect, it did turn out slightly big though but that’s ok, she does have a small head and she can always grow into it. I used acrylic felt and didn’t use any interfacing because the felt already has enough volume and stiffness. I used a light blue on the outside and a dark navy blue on the inside. It is reversible. It needs some embellishment though because the felt is solid and I am thinking of making a flower or a bow or something.
