Wednesday’s WIP: A cardigan and a shawl

My little girl was such a good sport when I was knitting for an unnamed baby (which she decided to call bobboz, because she could not accept that the unborn baby still had no name), that I decided to knit her a cardigan.

I finally figured out intarsia and what to add a little motif at the bottom of the cardigan but am still undecided.  It is much easier than I thought it would be.  I guess cables and entrelac are next on my list of techniques I should try out.

I also cast on another shawl because I am trying to use up this yarn.

It is my own design,  which is being tested as we speak.  I wish I could show you all the gorgeous FOs that are coming out, but I am waiting till all of my testers are done and the pattern itself is ready for release.  The first one was in worsted weight, this one is in DK so it is not knitting up as fast, but I still love that the pattern can be knit in any yarn weight and to any size, instead of having a specific number of repeats.

  1. […] do, there is always something new you can learn and use in a future design.  I just figured out intarsia and have a million and one ideas of what I can do with it.  I also bought a set of cable needles […]

Its Spring, soon to be Summer here, (although a little cooler in the hills) and the look of your cardi sitting there on the needles has inspired me all over again! Great stuff with the Antarsia, just the word simply frightens me. Also loving the look of your shawl…nice day
