I started this on the 26th of December. I was quite determined to finish it before 2011 ended. I love a challenge and I am a little bit crazy. It is just a plain old granny square blanket, I kept going until I was out of yarn. The good news is I managed to finish with a few hours to spare and my stash is 4 skeins of Acrylic lighter. It is 82 cm (32 inches for people in the US) on the side and it is the perfect size for a baby blanket. The yarn is all DK weight, and it is worked on a 4mm hook. I got bored towards the end of it, when the rounds were really long and the repetitiveness started killing my brain cells.
I am now thinking about 2012 and what I want to accomplish then, I am hoping to set up some sort of schedule to release more designs in 2012 and learn more challenging techniques in knitting and crochet. I will hopefully post about my plans sometime next week.
What are your goals for 2012?
Happy New Year
Hi, just discovered your blog today through Pinterest, I used to knit loads but have given it up in the last 2-3 years. Liked seeing this crochet blanket, my grandmother used to be 20 of these and then donate them all to hospitals and homes. She is the one that taught me to knit when I was a 4 year old. I will get back to knitting again sometime, but don’t think I will ever get a hang of crocheting. Thanks for your blog xo
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment. I have been trying to teach my 4 yo how to knit because she keeps asking to ‘make knitting’ but it is a disaster. I am sure your grandmother must have been an awesome lady
