I finished a shawl but the yarn was so wrong for this pattern so I am going to cast on another one, so it is technically still a WIP, at least the pattern still is. It does look nice as a striped shawl but you can’t see the eyelet details or the mesh edging. I should have just frogged it at the beginning but this yarn just refused to be anything that I felt that I might as well knit it up even if it weren’t perfect. If you go cross eyed and touch the screen with your nose you just might see the pattern (no don’t do that, I was just kidding)
I did cast on another Mountain Rivers Hat with the leftover yarn because I just want to get rid of it. Wouldn’t it just be easier if I just threw it away? Do knitters and crocheters ever throw away yarn? Is that even possible?
When I have a yarn that just won’t behave for me, I donate it to other craftspeople who might have better results
That is a wonderful idea, I will try and find someplace local where I can donate yarn.
My larger bits of yarn I use as part of my animal faces etc but for the really small pieces I save them up in a box and donate them to my sons school. The children use the bits for making pictures and other things.
I have two skeins of really bad acrylic, I might throw in a couple of needles and donate them someplace.
I understand you can’t see the all the work in the pattern. But I love the yarn!
Yes. I knit a hat in it and it turned out lovely
I just wondered what pattern you used for the shawl, it is very pretty I love the yarn and would be willing to do a trade if you are interested.
I still have it and I have never worn it, you can have it if you want just email me jessyz [@] chocolatemintsinajar [dot] com and I will pop it in the mail for you. the pattern was something I was trying out but it never got released, it needs to be redone in a solid color.
