Wednesday’s WIP: A Poncho

What do you mean it is not Wednesday? Are you sure? Well it is my blog and I can pretend that it is Wednesday if I want to.

I actually finished a project but I am sharing that on Friday.

But I can show you this.

It is going to be a poncho for the little one, she has taken to stealing borrowing my shawls because she is cold and enjoys being wrapped up and since I love any excuse for knitting more stuff I decided to make her a poncho.  I looked around and saw so many cute patterns but none that actually called out to me.  There was a specific style that I thought was cute and easy to make even for beginners who don’t want to deal with knitting in the round, you just knit a rectangle then seam a short end to the last half of the long end, just like this one called Jump.  But that is not what I wanted, so I decided to adapt the Marakeb shawl for a simple poncho.  I also had this pretty pink wool since last year and was keeping it for something special and I guess it was just waiting for this project.

Pretty Pink PonchoAnd I want to finish this soon because I am already itching for another pair of socks.  Socks are addictive and trust me wearing socks that you made is strangely satisfying. And I have happily realized I have a few skeins of yarn that are fingering weight and could be turned into socks .

Strumpg und SportwolleMy husband requested more man socks in a color that he might actually wear like boring beige or brown :-(.  Boring, but he is a fun guy so I guess beige socks he will get.
Alize BellaThis yarn is so soft and smooth that I am not entirely sure I actually want to knit it.
Hot Socks Beauty The pink yarn below was supposed to be a cardigan for the little one, it still might be, but the voices in my head keep telling me that they grow too fast and a pretty pink sock for me is a better idea.

Petals SocksI like the colors in this one but I already knit a sock using this and it is not the softest yarn to use.
