I started knitting with this yarn last week. I worked about 150 rows of a shawl. A rectangular one with 70 stitches a row. And then realized I had made a couple of mistakes. Normally I would just ignore the mistakes. But I wanted the shawl to be wider so I realized it just wasn't worth it and ripped it all out. I am currently knitting one of my own patterns again because I want to update it. The yarn is Debbie Macomber Petals. It is a merino, angora, nylon blend. It is super soft. Crazy soft. I originally got it for socks but I have 900 yards of it so a shawl seemed like a better use for it.
I also made some fabric covered pins using a set my sister got me. I printed my own fabric and made some. It is one of those easy crafts that are fun to do.
If you have never printed on fabric using your regular ink jet printer you really need to give it a go.
Yesterday the 5yo asked for a dinosaur softie. I just goggled for a cute image, printed it and sewed it together. And voila you have a toy. I printed the same image twice but one of them was the mirror image of the other. It could work for so many things.
What are you working on this week?
I love your shawl and the color! Which one is it?
